O’Berry Neuro Medical Treatment Center is seeking to hire a Health Care Supervisor II (AOD). The facility is located in Goldsboro, NC and is a state residential specialized nursing center committed to maximizing the person centered experiences for those who live here. Duties & responsibilities include monitoring of approximately 268 intellectually disabled individuals by working with Unit Directors, Program Coordinators, Group Home Managers & Developmental Technicians to ensure the health, safety & developmental needs of the individuals who reside at the Center. The AOD ensures tasks performed adhere to state, federal & O’Berry Neuro Medical Treatment Center policies & procedures. Position is responsible for making decisions necessary to maintain the normal operation of the Center such as administrative monitoring, taking corrective action for issues & concerns, arranging campus staffing as required, checking & resetting alarms, initiating & coordinating crisis management or emergency procedures & serving as a contact person for outside authorities. Determines when to notify a Management Team Member or Senior supervisor. Hours are from 4:00pm to 12:30am. When working on weekends they are 12 hour shifts.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies:
  • Must be certified as a Nursing Assistant and listed in good standing with the Health Care Registry.
  • Thorough knowledge of principles & practices involving sanitation, personal hygiene, & common health & safety precautions.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with courtesy & tact in performing daily duties with a variety of different employees & during public contact duties.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in oral & written form.
  • Demonstrated ability to be able to make sound, independent decisions; giving direction & working independently.
  • Some computer familiarity.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Must be certified as a Nursing Assistant and listed in good standing with the Health Care Registry.Two years of experience in health care work at the level of health care supervisor I; or three years at HCT II level including two years in supervisory capacity; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
