SUMMARY

The Admissions Advisor influences and manages the admissions process.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

Educating the applicants, family members, and the community providing pertinent information concerning Center policy and procedure, expectations, charges, Medicaid and Medicare guidelines and interdepartmental information.

Review Admission Packet information to assure material is current and compliant.

Review electronic transmissions from acute care centers to determine eligibility for admission to MorseLife.

Manage the contact process for waiting lists of applicants and/or families every 3 months, documenting contact and alerting supervisor of any changes in situation that may require an immediate referral to provide intervention.

Receive and process Long Term Care (LTC) applications and conduct resident/family interviews to determine most appropriate LTC Nursing Unit for resident.

Perform Passport/MECCA checks to validate Medicare and remaining days available.

Provide clerical assistance to Admissions Manager; inclusive of managing the Admissions

Department telephone tracking log.

Manage Admission and Discharge Register.

QUALIFICATIONS

(EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

Associate’s degree in health related field with experience in long-term care or a minimum of three years experience performing admissions in a skilled nursing facility.
