Admissions Office Technician needed at Carteret Community College in Morehead City: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Educational equivalent to a community college level Associate's degree in business or office systems, where customer service is a key point of the curriculum. Extensive experience in Datatel/Colleague college software system, preferably in admissions. Maintain current levels of new software and training for computer systems. Detail oriented and with excellent organization skills. Must possess excellent customer service and communication skills. Must have the ability to accurately enter data into student database system. Experience with word processing and spreadsheet application programs required. Must be able to type at a speed of 50 words per minute or better. One- year office experience using Windows, MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Adobe Creative Suite 2.0 (InDesign, PhotoShop, etc…), web design software (Mozilla Composer, Dreamweaver, GoLive, etc.). Basic computer troubleshooting and technology troubleshooting. Ability to interact with others in a pleasant, congenial, and tactful manner. Permanent full-time position; hiring salary range: $2,268.00 to $2,476.00 monthly. Deadline for applying is April 5, 2013.

Admissions Office Technician

Statement of Primary Purpose

To Provide clerical support and general assistance to the Admissions Office. Provide technical support and act as general receptionist to Enrollment Management when needed. Serves as backup for switchboard/College Receptionist.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Provide clerical support to the admissions officer.
  • Assist students, staff/faculty and potential students with their questions about the college, academic programs, policies and procedures, and admissions processes.
  • Serve as backup receptionist for the college.
  • Maintain and update forms used on a daily basis
  • Download and print out applications and electronic transcripts from CFNC.
  • Date stamp and enter student applications (received electronically, by mail or hand delivered) into DATATEL/Colleague.
  • Update CFNC website for CCC with general college information.
  • Contact applicants to verify illegible or missing application information.
  • Date stamp and record test scores and external transcripts on student database records (DATATEL, Excel, etc…) as needed.
  • Scan documents received from students into their admissions folders.
  • Check documents held in “holding” files in Hershey scanning system.
  • Keep Health Sciences applicant spreadsheets up to date and calculate GPA scores for students who have complete admissions files.
  • Assist with residency classifications as necessary.
  • Assist in development and maintenance of academic calendars.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist the Student Services Division with departmental activities; not limited to registration, graduation, college/career days, etc…
  • Other duties as requested by College personnel as approved by Director of Student Services

Minimum Qualifications

Physical Demands
Physical lifting of at least 30 pounds. Constant moving and walking to assist students, faculty, and staff.

Licensing Requirement
Notary Public (preferred)

Working Conditions and Environment (i.e., necessary travel, unusual work hours, unusual environmental conditions, etc.)

A forty-hour work week established to adequately fulfill the assigned duties and responsibilities. Work is carried out in a standard heated and air conditioned area in a public (open) area located in the H. J. McGee, Jr. building, within the Enrollment Management Center. There will be frequent interruptions both from students and the public. Some evening will be required and weekend work may be required. Some travel may be necessary to stay up-to-date on State and Federal requirements; and computer programs and software updates.

Equipment Operation

Computer Microsoft XP or higher, Copier, Fax, and Cisco Phone Systems
