The Learner Services & Operations Admissions Representative is responsible for the timely and accurate processing and security of all applicant, learner and alumni documents. This may include scanning/indexing, processing, tracking, and following-up on official transcripts and application documents, evaluation of documents for admission and transfer credit, or management of learner documents. The LSO Admissions Representative works as part of a team that provides exceptional support both to Capella applicants and learners, as well as internal partners.
Manage incoming applicant and learner documents.
Respond to telephone and email service requests from applicants, learners, and internal partners.
Data entry to track admission documents,
Contact learners and other schools to follow up on transcripts and other application documents.
Review, verify, and assess transcripts in accordance with established guidelines for admission and transfer credit.
Distribute mail for the University.
Achieve quality and productivity metrics established for team.
Participate in proactive problem solving with team and internal partners.
Train and mentor new and existing staff members.
Attend job specific training to continuously improve skills.
Engage in professional development opportunities.
Maximize skills and knowledge to support business initiatives.
Ability to maintain flexible work schedule.
Education: Associate Degree required, Bachelor's preferred and/or commensurate experience.
Experience: Minimum 1 year customer service experience required and a solid understanding/experience in academics strongly preferred.
Technical Skills: Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
Professional Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating a sound ability to effectively listen; well organized; consistently demonstrates customer focus; works well in teams; ability to adapt to a professional culture that combines the traditions of higher education with the innovation of a fast-paced, entrepreneurial organization; strong conceptual and analytical skills.
Goal Management Skills: Goal-oriented, develops individual performance and professional development goals annually with focus on continuous improvement, ability to organize and prioritize own work to meet tight time constraints.
