Job Responsibilities

SUMMARY :
Processes applications, transcripts, and supporting documentation for admission into the College.

Assists with other responsibilities within the Office of the Registrar as required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • *Processes all student applications received electronically for admission and paper applications received in the office, and incoming high school and GED transcripts.
  • *Creates data file and initiates printing and mailing of acceptance letters.
  • *Oversees and responds to electronic and regular correspondence from and to prospective and current students.
  • Uses scanning technology to update electronic files.
  • Answers telephone, provides basic information and directs calls.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
  • Associates degree.
  • Two (2) years of equivalent full-time clerical experience in an office environment.
  • One (1) year of equivalent full-time experience in student services in an educational setting.
  • Experience working with the public.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Skill in keyboarding; basic math and grammar, and basic level word processing (MS Word).
  • May require basic level skills in spreadsheet applications (MS Excel).
  • Ability to file by alpha and numeric.
  • Ability to effectively present information present information in one-on one situations to customers and other employees of the College.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in the performance of regular work.
  • Excellent customer service skills and proven ability to develop and sustain productive customer relationships.
  • Must have sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of a diverse population.
Preferred Qualifications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience in Banner navigation.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Experience working in a higher education environment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Access and MS PowerPoint.
Work Schedule

8:30 – 5:00 Monday through Friday. Varied hrs may be necessary during peak periods or to cover for other staff.

Target Hiring Rate/Salary

Special Note

This is a full time 1199 Bargaining Unit position. Full time 1199 Bargaining Unit members will be given first consideration.
