All candidates must have (or qualify to obtain) a current SD driver's license, proof of insurance, acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report and be cleared through the Central Registry for Abuse and Neglect and the Division of Criminal Investigation. Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field and experience with special needs populations, especially Emotionally, Behaviorally Disturbed, is preferred. The Admissions Specialist is responsible for the intake process for all Family Reconciliation Center and Youth Challenge youth. He/she assures that all information required by Wellspring, state licensing regulations, accreditation and/or contracts is completed and in the clients file. The Admissions Specialist in coordination with the Clinical Director and Residential Treatment Specialists, schedule monthly staffings for residential youth. This position is evaluated by the Clinical Director after the three month probationary period and annually thereafter. Responsibilities: Contact person for referral agencies, parents, schools etc. completes intake form gathering appropriate information. Determine financial plan for services being sought by referral source. Responsible for presenting intake information at Admissions/Discharge meeting for review by the team. Inform referral agency of approval or denial and status of intake. If client is approved make arrangements for deposit if necessary. Maintain contact with referral agencies for approved clients who are placed on the waiting list. Notify them of the client status and projected intake date. Schedules intakes. Obtains all documentation, information, signatures required by state licensing regulations, contracts and Wellspring’s written plan. Ensure that client files contain all needed information and coordinates with receptionist to determine responsibility for items needed including completing requests for documentation. Quality checks all of Wellspring paperwork prior to filing paperwork. Maintain billing spreadsheet for FRC services to reflect accurate information for billing purposes. Send information for billing purposes. Conduct tours of the facility. Provides On-Call duties as assigned. Responsible for accessing necessary and appropriate community resources for the adolescents and families served by Wellspring and making appropriate referrals. Coordinate monthly staffing meetings with the Clinical Director. Develops and maintains a resource directory. Contacts community service providers and maintains a good working relationship with them. Collects data, as directed, on all clients and families serviced by employer. Plays an active role in the Benchmarking System. Create and maintain client files in the computer as well as paper files on each client. Participates in staff trainings, group supervision, and appropriate meetings. Respond to all confidential record requests ensuring appropriate releases are signed. Provides coverage for the receptionist when needed. Prepare discharge checklist include copies of medical records, return client funds, and transfer discharge checklist to staff who will complete discharge. Conducts Exit Interviews, parents and referral agency representatives. Conducts Quality Assurance/Follow-up contacts with Wellspring clients, parents and referral agency representatives. Participates in staff orientations and training as requested. Completes all paperwork, filing and reports in a timely manner. Punctual for all shifts and meetings. Interacts in a positive way with all other staff and is supportive in times of crises. Has a good working relationship with other agencies. Provides public education to the community regarding programs. Other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements: The ability to perform crisis intervention techniques to control a physically acting-out adolescent. Salary
