Currently, Chubb is seeking a Programmer Trainee for the Warren, NJ office.
The Administrative Services group has an opening for a Programmer Trainee in the Technology/Procurement Department that provides support to all of the areas technology needs.
As a Programmer Trainee, you will:
•Participate in the business requirements and process definition (e.g. new, enhancements or maintenance).
•Participate in the analysis, development/maintenance, testing and implementation of new applications.
•Design and code metric reports; running tests to find errors and revise programs. Write documentation that describes installation and operating procedures.
•Write applications systems designs and specifications, utilizing standard procedures and techniques.
•Understand Business objectives requirements and technologies available within Chubb and third party tools used
•Support production environment availability for all customers
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
•Ability to produce results in the analysis, construction, testing and implementation of applications
•Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
•Strong problem solving skills
•Aptitude towards learning new skills effectively
•Ability to work effectively with individuals in a team environment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
•Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
•0-3 years experience in application program development
•Cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better
OTHER SKILLS/EXPERIENCE :
•Experience with SQL, Java, .NET, ASP
•Experience working with relational databases
•Experience with website design/development
•Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle
•Understanding of Insurance industry
