This team consults with business units across Chevron to apply repeatable modeling and analytics solutions to improve business decision making. The team develops, deploys, and supports models built with a wide variety of technologies including, predictive analytics, statistics, data mining, neural networks, genetic algorithms, optimization, big data analysis and others.
The charter and vision of the team is to excel in developing solutions which would utilize the massive amount of data that is generated in the enterprise to gain better decision insights. Some specific examples are in our Value Chain Optimization organization and the Drilling & Completions function, where high frequency data needs to be leveraged to predict events and equipment failures.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Responsible for working on highly complex projects involving multiple analytics technologies across all Chevron organizations.
Work directly with business to educate them on "moving beyond Business Intelligence" and showcases a passion for generating insights from data.
Develop and grow skills in technologies and innovation as appropriate,
Develop and encourage teamwork and Chevron Way behaviors: encourages diversity, builds collaboration, pushes out decision making, facilitates conflict resolution, and creates supportive environment by eliminating barriers.
Proven experience in developing and deploying predictive and advanced analytics technologies and processes.
Results oriented, able to deal with ambiguity, curiosity, able to learn Chevron's engineering disciplines (e.g. supply chain, drilling, production or reservoir engineering), good communication and documentation skills
Strong math, quantitative background. Ability to deal with open ended questions, build a hypothesis, a solution path and then work on creating deliverables that lead to a solution.
Advanced degree in an analytical or technical field (preferably in Computer Science, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, Engineering Management or related).
Experience with predictive analytics tools (SPSS, Rapid Analytics, Crystal Ball, etc.), statistical languages and packages. Must have a strong technical background in programming and experience working hands-on with large-scale data sets.
Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in a predictive modeling / data scientist role or equivalent experience.
Ability to lead complex technical deliverables required.
Proven experience in advanced analytics (focused predictive analytics).
Relocation will not be considered within Chevron parameters.
