Advertising & Promotions Manager - St. Louis Blues (St. Louis, MO)

Job Summary:

The St. Louis Blues have an immediate opening for an Advertising and Promotions Manager. This position is responsible for the implementation of the Club’s marketing efforts including advertising, promotions and branding consistent with the marketing plan and established brand guidelines.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
  • Media planning, buying and placement for all Blues focused advertising (cash & trade)
  • Implement, manage and provide detailed reporting on the advertising plan
  • Implement advertising campaign to increase ticket sales and brand awareness
  • Participate in strategic planning of marketing and sales plan
  • Oversee game night promotions, special events, etc.
  • Serves as a liaison with ad agency during the creative process for marketing campaigns
  • Oversee printed and electronic marketing materials ensuring that materials reflect the Club’s quality standards for design, copy editing and functionality
  • Write and traffic Club’s promotional messaging through all media channels, including but not limited to online, TV, print, radio, club phone system and in-arena
  • Assists in development of ticket promotions and is responsible for monitoring sales in an effort to reach tickets sales goals
  • Manages the relationships with media partners to maximize team investment and create successful and impactful added value promotions
  • Manage promotion and print partnerships
  • Maintain advertising and promotion budget
  • Additional duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising or related field
  • Five plus years prior experience in sports marketing with a professional team or with a sports advertising agency preferred
  • Previous success in media planning, negotiating and placement of advertising required
  • Knowledge of and strong relationships with St. Louis media outlets
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven job reliability, professionalism, diligence, dedication, creativity and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to work in a team-oriented and collaborative approach
  • Understanding and familiarity with corporate budgeting practices preferred
  • Ability to multi-task, think outside the box and be very creative and innovative is essential
  • Ideal applicant will be highly motivated, possess a strong work ethic and be extremely organized
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Able to work flexible hours to include holidays, weekends & evenings required
