GE Aero seeks a strong candidate to drive secure and stable IT Network & Infrastructure Operations. The Technical expert will be responsible for maximizing Performance and Availability as well as growth & expansion related infrastructure projects for the Aero Infrastructure & technology stack to support business processes and initiatives. In this role, you will be to lead the operations and VIP Support, End User Support partnering with internal & external teams.

Essential Responsibilities
In addition, you will:
  • Be responsible for implementing and coordinating any new Technology initiatives at GE global sites
  • Leverage wide internal / external network to benchmark performance objectives, technology and process. Develop communication plans, operational metrics and ensure Performance & Availability for Aero
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key strategic vendors, business partners and peers
  • Plan and manage technical architecture and operations projects and ensure business deliverables are committed, communicated clearly and delivered on time
  • Provide expertise and leadership for peers and Aero business partners in analyzing and resolving networking & infrastructure challenges
  • Be responsible for infrastructure, performance & availability, metrics, preventive maintenance and initiation of improvements
  • Report out periodically
  • Pro-actively identify IT Infrastructure risks, obsolescence, capacity constraints and initiate mitigation initiatives
  • Implement best practices to deliver IT infrastructure projects and rollouts with GE shared Service teams and local vendors, while managing timelines and budgets
  • Manage VIP support and End User Support service levels
  • Own asset database, on- and off boarding process for IT, hardware refresh processes
  • Manage regional IT communication plan (IT Intranet, FAQ, IT engagement instructions, employee IT training, etc.)
  • Identify and deliver process enhancements, drive standardization and simplification
  • Own project management of business solutions following a full software development life cycle in order to deliver projects on time, on budget, & as requested by our business clients
  • Ensure rigor of project execution, budget / scope management, contracted resource management, and adherence to GE Energy

  • 's Project Management Methodology (PMM) Establish and maintain good working relationships with shared services IT teams and vendors to create & propose technology solutions with high impact to the business Actively drive and monitor accountability from support teams and vendors Enforce standards, policies, & compliance requirements Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an Infrastructure and/or Network specialist role

    Desired Characteristics
  • Experience in implementing and managing local infrastructure like MPLS, servers, routers, switches, IT security, PBX / IP telephony, etc.
