Responsible for the sales activities for customers within a business region. Cultivates key executive contacts within accounts to create strong business relationships. Responsible for account profitability and growth with concentration of handled purchases.
Serve as the principal liaison between the customer’s executive management team and True Value to build and enhance our business relationship. Recognize and rapidly respond to customer needs and competitor activities. Resolve problems, expedite solutions, and communicate relevant information as it pertains to logistics, IT, Merchandising and Retail Operations.
Develop business strategies to improve profitability for the customer and True Value. Identify and convert sales opportunities from other suppliers to increase sales. Recommend product assortments and/or partner with customer’s buyers. Work closely with True Value product merchants to offer assortments focused on specific customer needs. Develop and analyze product mix and POS data, understand market trends, manage forecasting, prepare proposals, and make effective presentations to customers.
Prospect and make effective presentations, sign and install new customers that meet the criteria of True Value’s business model and contribution to margin goal.
Coordinate and participate in customer’s shows and event including communication, planning, and follow-up with vendors.
Minimum Type and Years of Related Experience Required:
- Three to five years of related work experience
- Other Industry/Disclipline experience: Merchandising, Retail, Sales and Wholesale
- Travel 50%
- Excellent communication sills both verbal and written, strong
- Strong product knowledge preferred

Relies upon data, own experiences, other’s perspectives, and a clear process when evaluating course of action and making recommendations and decisions
Uses available resources sensibly; is attentive to cost implications of own work in performing role

Possess proficient understanding of widely used PC applications, including Powerpoint
Accounting, Analytics, Communication, Customer Service, Forecasting, Leadership, Negotiation and Time Management skills are desirable
