Responsibilities: Assist the agency nurses in meeting the daily nursing needs of all consumers and staff. Provide periodic health screenings as directed by the nurses. Analyze illness/medical complaints or concerns, problem solve and make recommendations according to individual needs and refer to agency nurse as needed. Assist in dispensing medications and providing basic first aid treatment to all persons. Be committed to providing a safe environment for all consumers. Accept varied assignments from nursing staff as requested (i.e. typing, filing, copying, etc.). Must be physically capable of assisting with feeding and bath rooming of individuals served, transferring clients, lifting up to 50lbs without assistance, using a lifting device, standing, bending, and performing medical duties. Communicate openly and cooperate in a flexible manner with all agency staff to ensure quality of services. Able to work independently as well as in group situations. Adhere to policies and procedures of the agency. Assist with problem solving to improve efficiency within division. Portray a positive attitude that maintains a customer and co-worker satisfaction level that limits adverse situations or complaints. Promote agency philosophies, generating team spirit and creating and maintaining an environment that fosters employee satisfaction, maximizes productivity and profitability. Survey Industrial workshop for safety issues. Attendrequest related training as authorized.
Assemble and distribute travel spill kits.
Minimum qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Nursing or aide experience preferred. Must have or be capable of receiving current CPR, First Aide and CPI certification. Must be capable of passing Medication Administration Training. Be able to prioritize multiple job functions and coordinate routine responsibilities with spontaneity. Maintain a valid Indiana driver's license, insurance on personal vehicle (minimum of PLPD with Medical liability coverage), and maintain insurability as defined by the agency liability insurance carrier. Must possess and maintain reliable transportation that meets state requirements for transporting persons served.
