What You'll Do
As an Agency Recruiting Manager for John Deere Insurance Company (JDIC), you will promote the sales of Crop Insurance products/services by identifying, appointing and developing profitable and growing agency relationships within Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, South Dakota and Minnesota. In addition, you will:
Work closely with the Division Sales Manager to recruit new agencies, to manage the performance of existing agencies and to identify new agency recruits as potential candidates to work with John Deere dealers.
Develop a recruiting plan with activities for your assigned geography.
Focus on personal agency prospecting activities.
Develop business/marketing plans for appointed agencies.
Execute the JDIC sales process to develop a funnel of qualified agents that is documented in the company CRM system.
Promote participation by appointed agents in John Deere products/programs and/or initiatives.
Coordinate provision of training/programs to appointed agents and perform training as required.
Foster strong relations between JDF/JDIC employees and their appointed agents.
Execute corporate/marketing/events plans in territory.
Appoint and develop agencies such that key agency/John Deere dealer opportunities are maximized, working closely with other field personnel cross divisionally.
Manage company assets and control expenses to maximize return.
Manage the contractual relationship, serve as a liaison and resolve issues between the agency and the Company.
What It Takes
We need a salesperson with excellent communication skills who thrives on solving problems and can manage multiple projects and deadlines successfully to meet goals. Ideally, you'll have a bachelor's degree in business or agricultural related discipline or equivalent education and a minimum of 4 - 7 years working in the sales/marketing industry. We also require:
Knowledge of dealers/agencies and/or crop insurance programs and products.
Broad-based business, sales and marketing skills especially centered on channel management. Willing to travel into difficult environments and/or for extended periods of time.
Field experience with regular customer contact.
Broad product knowledge.
A strong candidate will also have:
Successful Crop Insurance sales experience.
Experience in one or more agricultural-related fields.
Experience & knowledge of John Deere dealership business practices.
