We are seeking an experienced Agricultural Support Technician to support our client near St. Louis, MO. This is a 12 month, W2 contract position, with a possible 12 month extension.

Essential Job Function:
Work as a key team member in support of hardware, software and calibrations within the agricultural field. The candidate must have excellent electrical diagnostic and mechanical skills with an understanding of the IT environment. This position requires technical innovation, customer focus, results orientation, and excellent problem solving skills. The candidate must have the ability to appropriately communicate and train on the use of specific applications, equipment settings, and problem solving techniques. The position will require the candidate to be able to work in the office to evaluate issues, collect data, and troubleshoot solutions over the phone with the flexibility to travel to the field site and assist with equipment, computer and/or mechanical issues if needed. Travel is required and maybe up to 30% especially during peak periods and training.

Primary Responsibilities:
Resolve IT, electrical and mechanical issues for agricultural based users.

Train groups of users to ensure proper knowledge transfer via phone and onsite.

Create needed documentation and support guides.

Understand the importance of accurate data collection and interaction with software.

Work with support team in the office and communicate required information.

Required Skills / Experience:
Required Experience:
Agricultural degree and well versed in agricultural technology and computer mechanical functions; and/or Electrical Engineering degree with an agricultural background and knowledge and/or comparable work experience in the agricultural industry.

Great interpersonal skills and ability to manage stress.

Enhanced troubleshooting skills.

Strong people skills and customer focus.

Ability to work well with all levels of the organization.

Understanding of research practices.

Desired skills:
Familiarity with farm equipment.

Agricultural background.

Positions are budgeted through the end of the current fiscal year.

Education / Certifications:
BS Degree or equivalent experience.
Candidates must pass a background check and skills assessment.
