Advertised Summary Job Description
The incumbent will help coordinate and provide administrative, technical support for various agriculture projects at the Agriculture and Rural Environment Program. The position will be based at the Tropical Agriculture Program at the Earth Institute on the Lamont Campus. He/she will work with the agriculture and environment team on a variety of tasks including, but not limited to: preparing surveys and data files to be entered in computer system for future analysis by researchers; checking and cleaning data and assisting in preliminary analysis; preparing baseline data files for matching with survey data; and assisting in linking agriculture data with remote sensing data. He/she will be responsible for interacting with teams at projects implementation sites and with other projects partners. The incumbent will also be responsible for working with the agriculture team on reports and publications. Report and publication management responsibilities include assisting in the preparation of technical reports for donors, managing internally produced information (such as researching publications), providing bibliographic support to Tropical Agriculture Program researchers, coordinating and supervising the production, distribution and use of the program reports, announcements, publications and other material. All other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Bachelor's degree and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience are required.

Bachelor's degree in agricultural or international development, statistics, quantitative methods, policy, or its equivalent is required. Previous years of related work experience are not required for this position. However, a minimum of 1-2 years' related experience in statistics, agricultural or development economics, international development, or a related discipline are highly desirable. Proficiency with data management and validation techniques desired. Experience with statistical software including STATA, R,Geographic Information System (GIS) applications; and Microsoft Office suite desired. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience in management and use of large datasets. Proven ability to work well both independently and as part of a team. Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and manage multiple tasks with changing deadlines in a fast paced environment. Attention to detail, initiative and a creative approach to problem solving and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects are essential.

French proficiency is a plus
