NEVADA AIR NATIONAL GUARD
NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED:
This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
JOB
SUMMARY:
This position is located within a National Guard aircraft maintenance organization. Its primary purpose is to inspect, repair, modify, and service aircraft systems, components, and assemblies, both on- and off-aircraft.

Performs inspections, functional checks, and preventive maintenance on aircraft to include periodic, phase, hourly, preflight, postflight, calendar, thru-flight, and special inspections such as fuel contamination, emergency equipment, and oil sampling.
Troubleshoots and performs unscheduled maintenance on assigned and transient aircraft, utilizing various gauges, meters, measuring devices and other related test equipment.
May be required to perform user and organizational level maintenance on assigned support equipment, including inspection, repair, modification, and corrosion prevention.
Instructs, directs, and assigns maintenance repair tasks to drill status guard members.
Complies with safety, fire, security, and housekeeping regulations.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
Experience or training that has provided the candidate with the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts, accessories, and components, and to make adjustments and settings according to established specifications. Must be skilled in the use of hand tools and test equipment.
Specialized Experience
Must have experience or training installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting and functionally testing the various major and minor mechanical and pneudraulic systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modification. Experience coordinating the work of other mechanics, and scheduling maintenance to ensure completion of critical actions and optimum work flow. Must have the ability to instruct lower graded mechanics. Experience or training in pre, thru, and post flight inspections on C-130 aircraft and schedule appropriate specialist support to ensure mission accomplishment. Experience in ordering and turn in of aircraft parts, tools and equipment, use of GO81 and TCMAX, and regulation and instruction pertaining to aircraft maintenance.

OTHER INFORMATION: CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Wear of the appropriate military uniform and maintaining standards of conduct and appearance are mandatory. Additionally, the selectee agrees to attend all Unit Training Assemblies and Annual Training with his/her unit of assignment.

Acceptance of a military technician position will cause termination of entitlement and eligibility for all bonuses and student loan repayments effective the date of employment. An initial payment received less than 180 days from the start of any technician tour, WILL be recouped. This does not apply to temporary technician assignments of less than 180 days.
This does not affect GI Bill eligibility.
No PCS funds are available.
Grade inversion is not permitted.
