Aluminum Expand and Trim Operator
(Start Rate: $16.69 Per Hour)
SUMMARY: Nails, belts, expands and trims aluminum core details to customer-defined dimensions. Operates a variety of custom expanding equipment, large band saws with moving tables and a Programmable Logic Controlled oven. Performs any MRP transactions as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES include the following. Other closely related duties may be assigned.
Performs set-ups, first part checks and any specific nailing, belting, expanding, trimming and when necessary stress relief of Aluminum core slices to meet customer requirements.
Uses a tape measure, a dial caliper, 6" rule and micrometer. Uses visual inspections and sales order review specification list to ensure product meets customer specifications.
Uses a computer and calculator to compute and enter data for MRP transactions.
Enters proper temperature and timing on heat stress oven to assure optimum flatness of core.
Ensures that products meet customer specifications and expectations.
Works in a team environment to reach consensus decisions within the guidelines and boundaries established by the company, and maintains constructive relationships with co-workers.
Utilizes JHA's, safe work practices, and other safety tools, including appropriate personal protective equipment, to perform job assignments in a safe and efficient manner.
Operates at all times in compliance with the Hexcel Casa Grande Quality System and Quality Policy.
Complies with Hexcel policies, procedures, and Code of Business Conduct.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent. Minimum of one-year experience required, preferably in manufacturing. Must be proficient in the use of tape measure and ruler. Basic working knowledge of computer data entry function preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Must be able to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
