Design innovative and challenging analog blocks for technically-competitive RF integrated circuits operating in the UHF bands for supply-chain management applications. Work with a small team of analog designers to innovate new circuits for RFID products. Design a variety of IC and board-level circuit designs, which may include charge pumps, rectifiers, analog filters, oscillators, mixers, amplifiers, bias circuits, data converters, memories, and other mixed signal blocks in logic CMOS and/or SiGe BiCMOS. Involved in full design cycle from definition to testing using state-of-the-art CAD tools. Perform block-level and chip-level simulations and pre- and post-layout extraction. Conduct reviews of one’s own design, with a focus on reasonable proof that requirements have been met, and participate in design reviews of peers. Maintain specifications and other design documentation to a high level of detail and accuracy. Support internal testing and qualification efforts. Wafer sensitivity sampling: learn proper use and care of RF probe station. Characterization: develop methods and code for measurement of RF/IC test structures and devices. Refine models to promote accurate simulations. Deliverables: simulation models and characterization reports for the most critical of the devices. Tag chip ESD evaluation: determine maximum survivable stresses for packaged tag chips. Review measurements done to date on DC and RF characteristics; re-test if necessary. Run simulations and form macro model which yields simulation results reasonably close to measurements. Deliverable: ESD datasheet containing macro model, simulation results, and measurement results.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Masters of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related technical degree or foreign degree equivalent and 2 years of engineering experience in design, characterization, or test of RF or analog IC products. This must include specific RF, analog, and digital circuits experience; experience with SPICE simulation, mixed signal simulation and layout; programming skills in Matlab or related technologies; and developing and debugging test methods, hardware, and software. Experience may be gained concurrently.
