BioMed Realty delivers optimal real estate solutions for biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, scientific research institutions, government agencies and other entities involved in the life science industry. BioMed Realty owns or has interests in properties comprising approximately 13.1 million rentable square feet. The companys properties are located predominantly in the major U.S. life science markets of Boston, San Francisco, San Diego, Maryland, New York/New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Seattle, which have well-established reputations as centers for scientific research.
Assist in the preparation of the companys external reporting including external statements and footnotes, SEC filings of Form 10-Ks, Form 10-Qs, management discussion and analysis, proxy statement, earnings releases, Form 8-K and other financial information and analyses. Assist in the preparation of schedules and documentation to support external financial statement footnotes, including MD&A and press release support schedules. Assist in the preparation and review of XBRL related data. Coordinate with external auditors to provide audit and review support documentation. Prepare purchase price allocations. Maintain stock plan/comp expense in accordance with ASC 718. Assist in consolidation process including preparing of journal entries related to non-controlling interest. Maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of and stay abreast of changes to GAAP and SEC rules and regulations. Maintenance of accounting and financial reporting systems including report writing and working with external consultants to customize the system where necessary. Additional special projects as needed.

Skills/Experience

Strong technical proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook and PowerPoint. A track record of success utilizing financial analysis and technical skills in preparing tax returns, financial statements and operational reports, preferably for a public company. Must be organized and task oriented, able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with multiple deadlines, and adapt readily to changing priorities. Detail oriented and the ability to convey information orally and in written correspondence, reports and presentations, technical information in a clear and concise manner. BA/BS in finance, economics, accounting or related field required. CPA or working toward a CPA required. 2-3 years public accounting experience is preferred, but not required.
