This position will perform qualitative and quantitative analysis for new materials, raw materials, in-process samples, product non-conformances, contaminants, etc. Incumbent will be responsible to solve problems with the use of chemistry, instrumentation, computers and statistics, and interpret data communicating results to management. Candidate will prepares samples, measures, performs basic laboratory research, develop test methods and defines instruments used in analytical analysis. Incumbent will contributes to solving technical problems through coordinating, conducting, and evaluating experiments in relation to the physical or chemical aspects of coatings, sealants or polymers/resins. This position will be accountable to ensure that quality procedures and protocols are followed and assists in the implementation of AS9100 as well as ensures that proper safety attitudes, procedures and housekeeping are maintained on all work programs. Success ful candidate will initiate communication with internal/external customers and suppliers to establish valid requirements for those materials and services to be delivered. The incumbent will complete work in conformance with these requirements. The candidate will demonstrate teamwork to encourage other members throughout the organization. This position will assist the current technicians in the lab but will be handling more-in-depth testing/analyzing materials using analytical instruments.
Experience and Education
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field with 3 years related experience. Must have a solid background in chemistry (organic, and inorganic) and good laboratory, computer, and communication skills are important. Excellent customer service and management skills are a plus.
Core knowledge in Chromatography, Spectroscopy, and Thermal Analysis, Wet Chemistry or related fields are required.
Functional and Technical Skills
Must be proficient within the Microsoft office environment. Incumbent will need to understand and apply basic statistics.
