The Phoenix Zoo is seeking an Animal Diet Technician to be responsible for the facilitation of animal diet preparation work. Animal Diet Technicians prepare prescribed recipes and diets and communicate diet and/or feed changes to husbandry staff, and monitor for quality in feed and sanitation standards.
Minimum requirements include a HS Diploma with a preference for a BS degree in Animal Biology or Nutrition, 1 year experience in food service or animal diet prep, excellent math skills, ability to lift up to 50lbs and carry the load for 25 yards, must be willing to work with and humanely euthanize live prey items, and be in possession of a valid driver’s license. All Phoenix Zoo employees are required to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen, this position will also require an annual TB test.
