Engineered to think.
In a world… where science fiction is constantly making promises that actual science can’t deliver. Where phone booths don’t teleport themselves, and zero calorie beer has yet to exist. One company had the courage to stand up and say, “Hey! Science! Where’s my jetpack?”
Hi. We're Anki.
When our Co-Founders Boris, Mark and Hanns met in the Ph.D program at Carnegie Mellon’s Robotics Institute, they didn’t dream about artificial intelligence that sends you speeding tickets in the mail, or shrink wraps shrink-wrap. They were united by a shared habit of saying “Hey, wouldn’t it be cool if...?” then actually making that cool thing happen.
Now, we know what you’re thinking: we’re just another all black-wearing, white cat-stroking bunch of weirdos designing laser-powered panini machines in an underground lair somewhere. Nope . Anki is made up of non-crazy people building crazy-cool AI and robotics that are reinventing physical entertainment.
Sound crazy? Maybe. But crazy-in-a-good-way. Maybe that’s why Apple CEO Tim Cook introduced our first product, Anki Drive, in his keynote at WWDC this past June. And why top-tier VC’s including Andreessen Horowitz, Index Ventures, and Two Sigma trust us with their money.
Anki is taking years of fancy research and incomprehensible 1’s and 0’s and turning them into exciting things that people actually want. Things they want real bad. Things they didn’t even think could exist.
Imagine impossible interactive experiences. Imagine video games in real life. Imagine jetpacks.
And we’re just getting started.
Excited? Us too. Visit the Anki website and find us on Facebook and YouTube to find out more about Anki - the future of consumer robotics and entertainment.
Are you creative? Enthusiastic? Someone who can rise to a challenge? Anki is creating a team of Anki evangelists – Ankivangelists - ambassadors to reach out directly to the consumer and to retail associates and share your passion for Anki Drive. Ankivangelists will create excitement around Anki Drive through education and demonstrations of Anki drive at retail stores and at local events. We are seeking individuals who are driven, outgoing, intelligent, savvy, engaging, great at presenting, and results-oriented. Ankivangelists are a cut above. If you enjoy engaging others, have a background in CE retail, and want to be a part of the hottest A.I. and robotics company in the market, keep on reading.
The Ankivangelist is at the forefront of Anki’s sales and marketing efforts to increase awareness of Anki Drive at the retail store level, and to ensure that any Anki Drive displays look great. The goal of the Ankivangelist is to increase sales of Anki Drive at retail by building brand awareness and increasing the “mind share” of Anki Drive among sales associates, and making sure that all Anki Drive displays look great. You will be an on-site store resource with complete knowledge of all Anki products and services. You will need to be able react quickly to customers’ and sales associates’ needs, and have flexibility and the availability to work weekends and special events as needed.
Your goal is to build excitement for Anki Drive among in-store staff and customers. A majority of your time will be spent training, promoting, and troubleshooting as needed to make sure that the Anki Drive displays look great. You should have diverse skills that include a focus on details, a strong ability to build relationships, and the ability to communicate effectively with key personnel (retail store sales associates, general managers, sales managers) and to consumers to generate sales of Anki Drive.
Locations: We are seeking an Ankivangelists to represent Anki in Los Angeles and another to represent us in New York. Chosen persons will be local to those cities and have a reliable form of transportation where several Anki Drive sized boxes may be safely transported if/when needed ( 46 x 9 x 5 approximately ).
