The Annual Campaign Manager is a skilled and highly motivated non-profit professional responsible for development activities specific to annual campaign management, relationship development and data management. This position works closely with the VP of Development (IDD) and the regional executive team to ensure the individual donor development business plan is implemented throughout the region.
This position requires working in collaboration with other departments within the organization locally, regionally and nationally. Region-wide travel and occasional work on evenings and weekends may be required.
Manage an assigned portfolio of annual campaign supporters and prospects with goals relating to:
Meeting agreed upon annual revenue goals related to annual campaign appeals.
Working with the VP of Development (IDD) and other department colleagues to develop strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward the donor portfolio to increase giving potential.
Maximizing personal contacts, to grow the number of proposed gifts, prospect identifications, etc. Report back on progress and strategy of those contacts.
Working with in-house Regional marketing/communications team to develop various collateral materials.
Utilizing donor database as a tool to track communications, action items, contacts, reports, etc.
Actively participating in regional donor cultivation strategy meetings.
Assist in the implementation of the regional cultivation plans for donors as directed, with the intent of sustaining and increasing relationships and revenue from donors.
Manage regional mid-level annual campaign cultivation and solicitation processes, working in conjunction with the Marketing and Communications Department where necessary.
Work with National Office staff as directed.
Support regional efforts to solicit donor-directed foundation support.
Assist to plan, organize and implement regional donor cultivation activities including – formal “ask” events, receptions and small group activities.
Assist the VP of Development (IDD) and the regional executive team with other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree, plus 3 years’ experience in non-profit fundraising and individual donor development and stewardship.
Experience in annual planning, data management, organizing donor programs and cultivating and soliciting donations from individuals.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, and excellent organizational skills.
Knowledge of Team Approach is preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office software: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, etc.; and experience in donor management database.
Must understand how to recruit and engage volunteers in meaningful ways to support the goals of the individual giving business plan.
Ability to think strategically and wisely. Must have discretion with donor information.
Must be able to travel with appropriate notice to serve the needs of the region.
Must have access to a vehicle and the ability to travel to serve the needs of the region
Must be able to work some nights and weekends.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
Must pass a criminal background check.
RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS
Within the Foundation
The Annual Campaign Manager maintains a close working relationship with the VP of Development (IDD) for direction regarding individual donor opportunities. Contact with regional office staff and volunteers to coordinate individual donor development communication and solicitation, and with National office staff, is required.
Outside the Foundation
The Annual Campaign Manager will be actively engaged in donor development through solicitation, cultivation and stewardship.
