Provide technical expertise in antenna-related system development activities associated with next-generation United States Air Force, Navy, Army and/or Marine SATCOM Terminals, including requirements analysis and technology maturation (i.e. novel reflector/feed solutions). Feeds and optics design will be targeted for S-, C-, X-, Ku-, and Ka- and Q-bands, with particular emphasis on multi-band terminals for SOTM (SATCOM On The Move).
Provide technical expertise in active phased array development for land, air and spaced based applications. Take responsibility for the concept, design, analysis, modeling and initial breadboard verification testing of the phased array antenna in support of radar and communication applications.
Using commercial and in-house tools perform advanced analysis on various types of antenna components and antenna systems, including but not limited to phased array and reflectors plus feeds. Such commercial tools include ADS, HFSS, Microwave Studio and GRASP. Help develop electromagnetic and phased array antenna modeling and simulation tools when applicable.
Work with other engineers as a team member in solving multi-disciplinary problems. Document and present results of analyses/testing to peers and customers.
· Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics.
· Minimum 5 years practical experience in the design, analysis and
testing of arrays, reflector antenna and reflector feeds.
· Minimum 2 years experience with electromagnetic analysis.
· Minimum 2 years working on Unix/Linux systems and Windows.
Preferred Additional Skills:
· MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Physics
· Understanding of electromagnetic analysis and design techniques and
use of popular analysis tools such as Matlab, HFSS, NEC and GRASP
· Understanding of classical analysis techniques such as MoM, FDTD and
FEM to solve antenna problems.
