Contract-to-Hire
Reports To: Manager of Enterprise Architecture
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Preparation of requirements, design specifications, interoperating constraints and performance evaluations for MCS systems projects, to include:
o Defining the application architecture
o Resolving high-level functional issues
o Providing standards and continuity in all major application solution decisions
o Coaching the development team
Ongoing participation and governance in the development of a comprehensive, forward looking architectural design for MCS IT systems
o Design critical framework components and reusable modules
o Design scalable, distributed applications and services using SOA principles
o Act as architectural representative with engineering staff to develop standard tools and frameworks as well as prototypes as part of architecture
Ensure that all solution level and application level architectural strategies align with MCS Architecture goals
Help define core MCS business processes, and ensure that new IT efforts enhance and support those core functions.
Provide strategic guidance to development teams in the detailed design, construction, implementation, and support of IT systems solutions
Provide technical consultation on new project initiatives
Develop and maintain the technical, application, information, process, and infrastructure views of the architecture (artifacts)
Provide architectural vision on technical strategy to IT development teams
Create and deliver detailed technical presentations.
Maintain an ongoing awareness of emerging developments and trends in technology that could impact current projects and influence new projects
Minimum Education
Bachelors Degree or equivalent required; MBA or Masters in Computer Science preferred
Minimum Experience
6+ years Information Technology experience
3-5 years of relevant industry experience to include application architecture, IT infrastructure and operational support systems
Additional Requirements
Broad, balanced technology experience across Microsoft, Oracle and Open Source platforms
Must be fluent in technology and able to educate and lead technical audiences
Must be comfortable in a dynamic and ever changing environment
Strong interpersonal/relationship management skills
