The Application Developer will develop and maintain software applications critical to the operations of Caremark by, incorporating peripheral knowledge of other Caremark applications and related technologies in the analysis and design of complex solutions. The Application Developer is proficient in all critical functions for the application(s) assigned, and is expected to champion SDLC methods and best practices on the team to ensure that quality standards are met. Responsible for developing and implementing technical solutions as assigned, ensuring and adhering to all established methodologies, standards and guidelines, including but not limited to: analysis & design documents, program specifications, test plans and results, design, code, testing, debugging, and documentation of those programs while delivering assignments within specified time frames.
Demonstrated successful completion of several small scope projects; demonstrated proficiency working on all phases of SDLC; demonstrated proficiency with problem determination and resolution through research and fact-finding. Effective communication skills are required to facilitate meetings with both technical and business audiences, often across multiple functional departments.
Demonstrate a desire to continually improve development skills
Ability to write mid-level SQL against database objects
Experience with high volume systems
Ability to troubleshoot and tune Informatica processes against high volume systems
Needs to be able to work independently with minimal guidance
Able to gather, interpret, clarify and refine business requirements directly with user community
Able to estimate ETL work accurately through ROMs
Needs to be able to think “outside the box” and develop unique solutions to issues
Able to coordinate through numerous teams to resolve solutions
Able to analyze and interpret existing ETL code in order to target for improvements and new business needs
Exposure to the following helpful
• Java (UI and batch logic)
• Oracle SQL, PL/SQL
• UNIX kornshell scripting
• Java XML scripting
Bachelor's degreee in Computer Science or equivalent work experience required, one additional year of experience is required for each year of college not attained
