Junior Developer
General Description
The role understands business objectives resulting in the need of creating technology solutions within the Starwood Vacation Ownership (SVO) systems landscape. The role is involved in identifying possible solutions and designing and implementing same to meet business requirements. The role creates and supports technology solutions using a mastery of programming languages, platforms, techniques and tools that range from scripting and programming languages, Structured Query Language (SQL) to configuration of platforms and tools deployed at SVO.
The Developer is accountable to do the following:
Analyze business requirements and rules
Identify and understand existing technology solutions inside and outside SVO
Map business requirements to functional application models
Validate business requirements by investigating production use cases
Implement solutions through scripting techniques, programming languages, Structured Query Language (SQL) and configuration of platforms and tools
Prepare test plans, support plans and other documentation for deployment to Production systems
Test new and existing solutions to gain Quality Assurance and stakeholder approval
Develop monitoring and verification solutions
Ensure robust and performing implementations by consulting with System and Database Administrators
Assume operational and administrative responsibilities for systems as assigned
Execute on other tasks as assigned by management
