Serves as a key resource between DCH Health System departments and Information Services. Reviews customers’ needs and implements appropriate technology to meet these needs. Develops policies and procedures related to the use, management, and support of technology/applications. Has a key role in planning, developing and implementing projects, with the possibility of serving as a project leader or managing small to large projects
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Works with Cancer Center physicians and Cancer Center Pharmacy to implement regimens within the pharmacy component of the Cancer Center applications system, including documentation of associated supporting workflows used in system configuration.
Performs ongoing required maintenance of regimens within pharmacy component of the Cancer Center Application; including, but not limited to, the Aria system.
Monitors and maintains Cancer Center data backups and disaster avoidance and recovery systems.
Serves as an on-site resource for first level application support for Cancer Center system application users; including, but not limited to, the Aria system.
Servers as a resource for escalating and tracking issues requiring vendor involvement. Also servers as a liaison between DCH and Cancer Center application vendors ; including, but not limited to, Varian.
Works with users, the IS Department, and vendors in order to implement, test, maintain, support, and troubleshoot software and technology systems related to Cancer Center technology needs.
Assists the Oncology Systems Team Leader with information gathering in order to design, develop, and implement various web and desktop systems.
Facilitates efficient use of technology by functioning as a Cancer Center applications core user; including, but not limited to, the Aria system.
Assists with the support of end user technology.
Serves as a training resource for Cancer Center systems; including, but not limited to, the Aria system.
Works as the liaison between the Cancer Center and other key DCH Health System departments to insure appropriate data is saved within Aria for a complete EMR system.
Assists Oncology Systems Team Leader with Cancer Center application report writing, and interface monitoring.
Administers system access and security of Cancer Center specific applications per Cancer Center policy and procedures.
Serves as a resource for all Cancer Center technology tasks and projects with a focus on higher end solutions.
Serves as a training resource and mentors new employees.
Develops and implements cost savings and performance improvement processes.

Requires use of electronic mail, time and attendance software, learning management software and intranet.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Possesses strong personal computer skills with experience in applications and/or operating system software.
- High school diploma or GED with 10 years of hands on IS/health care related experience and CAPM certification and 1 additional certification from IS Certification matrix OR
- Associates, technical, or non-IS Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of hands on IS/professional licensed health care related experience OR
- Associates, technical, or non-IS Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of hands on IS/professional licensed health care related experience and 2 certifications from IS Certification matrix OR
- Bachelor’s degree in CIS/CS/MIS and 7 years of hands on IS/professional licensed health care related experience
Demonstrates high-level skills in one of the following: (1) knowledge of current technologies related to healthcare, reflective of both clinical and administrative systems, OR (2) skill in systems analysis, systems design techniques, project management, financial and clinical applications
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to make formal presentations required.
Exhibits interpersonal skills and abilities to deal effectively with all levels of personnel.
Must be able to read, write legibly, speak and comprehend English.
Able to stand, walk, reach, sit, crouch, and stoop for extended periods of time. Must be able to carry objects weighing at least 25 - 35 pounds. This position requires good motor coordination with good manual and finger dexterity for data entry. Vision and hearing must be normal or corrected to normal with vision having normal color acuity. Individual must have the ability to communicate with staff and patients of all ages. Physical presence onsite is essential. Hearing and vision must be normal or corrected to within normal range. Able to perform the duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
