Title: Application Specialist
Location: Plano, TX
Purpose – Job Summary:
The Applications Specialist is a technical expert in the Retalix solution, capable of implementing a specific product out of the product suite. Application Specialists perform implementations and specialize in the system technical internals. A wide degree of creativity is expected. Position is active in the following functional areas: systems Integration, customer support while in project mode, systems configuration and implementation.
Understanding customer’s functionality and the specific implementation as set by BA and Development, and configuring Retalix solutions accordingly
Provide Quality Assurance for installation programs during the project lifecycle to ensure that all of the correct components have been installed and basic sanity tests are run.
Perform minor investigations in the Retalix Lab in order to reproduce UAT / pilot issues.
Provide technical project support on the client's site up until project acceptance by the customer.
Diagnose technical issues during the project lifecycle. Escalate to development when needed.
Contents management in the project context: manage the list of deliverables and software components per released package.
Perform solution integration between various Retalix products into a customer solution.
Maintain positive daily working relationships for effective communication with internal departments essential to performance of duties, and a wide range of customers and vendors.
Typically five to eight (5-8) or more years of experience in applications installation and implementation, which must include 3 years experience with Microsoft technologies
Technical problem-solving skills necessary to troubleshoot problems.
Computer skills necessary to operate general office, presentation, flowchart and project management applications
Planning and organizational skills necessary to prioritize and coordinate workload within a multiple project setting
Working knowledge of operating system environment.
Proficient verbal communication and writing skills to formally document and present analyses and proposals.
Demonstrated ability to interact primarily with peers, supervisors, application end user managers, with local IT personnel, and to work cooperatively in a teamwork environment. The ability to occasionally interface with senior management for information exchange.
Ability to read, write and analyze moderately complex technical manuals, operating procedures and communicate effectively by email, reports, or orally, with an audience that may include less technically oriented abilities.
Effectively manage multiple projects and personnel simultaneously.
