The Applications Support Developer/Analyst candidate will be part of a team responsible for supporting the development/test/production lifecycle of large-scale J2EE based strategic application.
The role and responsibilities include experience with installation and configuration of JBoss or Weblogic application servers in both clustered and non-clustered configurations, maintenance and support of J2EE based applications, deploying code modules to application servers using automation tools/scripts, triaging environmental issues and extending automation scripts as required.
The role operates in an Agile/scrum environment and requires an excellent understanding of the full software lifecycle, including functional requirement gathering, design and development, testing of software applications and documenting requirements and technical specifications. The candidate will help provide direction to junior to mid-level developers.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Collaborate with internal and external customers, ITSM and development teams to provide solutions.
Determine and document root cause of issues through partnership with the development team
Research and determine resolutions for incoming Issue requests
Monitor production environments to ensure system availability
Take the initiative to research and learn emerging technologies.
5 - 7 years of IT experience with at least 3 years of working experience in application development and production support.
Experience working with internal and external customers. Experience working with UX design for mobile, wire frames, illustrations, prototyping. Previous experience supporting complex projects with complicated business drivers and multiple stakeholders
Data-modeling and database design skills with any of the following databases: Oracle, MySQL or SQL Server, any of the following App Servers: Weblogic, JBoss, Tomcat, or Websphere.
Preferred Experience in: Enterprise monitoring tools, administering J2EE based application server, performance tuning, task automation, code, release, and change management, capacity modeling and planning
A team player with excellent collaboration and communication skills. The person should be able to work closely with customers (internal and external), as well as onsite and offshore team members. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required, along with demonstrated leadership and collaboration skills with a focus on customer satisfaction and customer relationship building. Requires an excellent understanding of the full software lifecycle, including functional requirement gathering, design and development, testing of software applications and documenting requirements and technical specifications and the ability to work with architects and system analysts. Ability to multi-task while maintaining high quality of deliverables. Solid understanding of all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle. Good writing and communication skills. Self-starter with the ability to act as technical lead and lead developer for assigned projects.
B.S. or B.A required, preferred in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
