A Technical Applications Analyst Associate is responsible for supporting the applications used within the IT environment of a healthcare facility. As part of those responsibilities, the analyst will be trained in maintenance of operating system platforms, programs and databases. The analyst will work with higher-level analysts, end-users and other IT groups to integrate the applications into the healthcare business process.
Duties and Responsibilities:
q Assist higher-level analysts with identifying options for potential solutions and assessing them for technical suitability
q Assists in the design, coding and testing of technical solutions
q Participate in the development of report and extracts
q Monitor and complete customer cases for such items as break/fix, requests for change, and service requests in a timely manner as dictated by customer support policies.
q Ensure application issues are appropriately communicated to the proper personnel
q Act as liaison between the customer and the application vendors
q Learn and understand customer business processes
q Remain apprised of current and future releases of applications and the associated technologies
q Learn and understand documentation related to technical specifications and programming
q Provide first-level on-call services and work off-shifts as needed.
q Perform other duties as requested.
Education, Experience & Licensure:
q Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Healthcare related field OR
q 0 to 3 years previous IT experience in Healthcare
Skills & Requirements:
q Knowledge of at least one application within a particular business function
q Capable of solving basic/low complexity problems
q Experience in at least one of the following OS platforms, databases, and/or programming languages
q Some knowledge of system and database administration principles
q Possesses general understanding in the areas of application programming, database and system design
q Understands Internet, Intranet, Extranet and client/server architectures
q Understands how legacy and web-based systems interface with each other
q Proficiency in utilizing a Windows-based PC and standard office software such as MS Office, Outlook and Internet Explorer.
q Ability to think critically, assess input on system requests and develop possible solutions
q Proven strong written and verbal communication skills
