Job Description:
The Applications Development Associate supports software testing and activities related to applications development. He/She performs tasks within planned durations to meet established deadlines. This position will perform quality assurance testing for basic applications. He/She collaborates with teams to ensure effective communications and to support the achievement of objectives.

This position provides support for applications and business functions. He/She contributes to the identification and reporting of defects in work products. This position assists with documentation (e.g., requirements, test and defect data, variances, problem resolution, etc.). The Applications Development Associate performs activities of lower complexity under close supervision. Limited second shift work is required during test execution periods.

Responsibilities:
Contributes to the Identification and Reporting of Defects in Work Products

Participates in the testing of work products and processes to identify defects, to meet standards, and to ensure effectiveness.

Contributes input to initial analysis to develop and implement appropriate actions.

Participates in Analysis and Testing

Supports the analysis of processes of low complexity to ensure accurate documentation of requirements and processes and to complete test coverage and requirement testability.

Contributes to test scripts, set-up, plans, data, and updates to support the testing phase and to ensure test requirements are met.

Assists with Tests Execution and Analyzes Results

Assists in tests execution to compare results with requirements, to verify test requirements.

Assists in execution and validating test set-up to ensure the environment is ready for testing.

Assists in documenting test results to support the efficient resolution of problems and to capture defect data.

Communicates test results with others (e.g., management, development teams, business users, etc.) to provide updates (e.g., estimated project enddate, defects, functionality, etc.).

Enters data in the defect management tool to report variances from expected results.

Assists in verifying defects are fixed to ensure expected results are met.

Contributes to the Identification and Reporting of Defects in Work Products

Participates in the testing of work products and processes to identify defects, to meet standards, and to ensure effectiveness.

Contributes input to initial analysis to develop and implement appropriate actions.

Supports I.S. Projects:
Contributes to task lists and time estimates to support project plan development.

Supports analyses (e.g., applications, requirements, etc.) to identify project action items.

Performs assigned functions and tasks to meet project plan and quality review requirements.

Raises issues to support problem resolution.

Additional Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office

Familiarity with software quality assurance testing concepts and testing tools: Quality Center, QTP, LoadRunner, Serena Mashups or working knowledge of VB6.net, SQL, VBscript is a plus.

Any familiarity with mainframe environment is desirable.

Education:
The desired Applications Development Associate will possess a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics or related field or the equivalent in education and work experience.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be a U.S. citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer
