The Applications Programmer I is an entry-level position, the primary responsibility of which is to gain an in-depth knowledge of programming tools and techniques in the BCBSMS T&D context. The incumbent is expected to take all available training opportunities so as to become proficient enough to support T&D initiatives. Under close supervision, the incumbent will also be responsible for preparing new programs and program modifications, primarily in a mainframe environment, using supplied functional program specifications for new and revised systems, and for executing appropriate testing, debugging and support processes.
