Global Technology Infrastructure (GTI) is the technology infrastructure organization for the firm, delivering a wide range of products and services, and partnering with all lines of business to provide high quality service delivery, exceptional project execution and financially disciplined approaches and processes in the most cost effective manner. The Distributed Technology Support (DTS) team is the team responsible for providing third level support for several technologies that are used across the company. This includes distributed operating systems, database, and automation tools used to manage these technologies.
The scope of this role is to perform day-to-day support tasks, as well as third level support of several DTS applications (corporate used applications that service the technology organization). This is a demanding role, as the candidate must be capable of leading technical bridges and possess clear, assertive communication skills.
Additional Responsibilities Include:
Work closely and partner with the aligned Applications development team as well as our Service and Delivery team in order to maintain appropriate service levels
Develop solutions for improvement
Drive root cause analysis for resolving high impact issues
The ideal candidate should have the following skill sets:
Advanced UNIX Skills and Wintel power-user or System Admin skills
Strong scripting skills, and should also have served in a production support capacity
Advanced trouble shooting skills are a must, and knowledge of monitoring and alerting mechanisms are an asset
Familiarity with configuration/ release management and the ability to recommend 'best practices' are also a plus
5 years of UNIX (Solaris), Linux, and Wintel experience.
3-5 years of real life production systems support experience.
3-5 years of Unix Shell Scripts (Bourne shell, Korn shell) or Wintel scripting (VBScript or PowerShell)
3-5 years or ApacheTomcat or IIS administration
Strong Unix Administration Experience
1-3 years SQL, Oracle or MS SQL specific experience a plus
Solid knowledge of technical architecture/infrastructure
Strong troubleshooting skills required
Knowledge of TCP/IP and networks in general beneficial.
