Dept./Location: Based at Kraton's Research and Technical Service (RTS) Center in Houston, Texas.
Estimated Travel (%): Less than 10%
The Applications and Technical Service Engineer will be the primary technical interface with the commercial team and the customer for the US supporting the Adhesives, Sealants and Coating business. They will focus on providing technical recommendations, supporting customer evaluations of Kraton product offerings, and supporting the commercialization of new products.
: Provide Primary Technical Focal Point for Regional Sales Team
: Focus on Customer Specific Technical Projects in support of new innovation applications and the extension of applications to new customers.
: Complete Technical Service Requests (customer visits, product recommendations, technical data via simple lab tests, analysis support)
: Provide Support on Customer Product Quality Issues
: Focus on Short-Term Product Modifications to Address Specific Customer/Application Needs
: Assess opportunity and determine the value proposition for new product opportunities
: Provide education & training new customers and distributors
: Develop Competitive Product Information to Support Product Sales
: Communicating needs, status, results and observations, both verbally and in written form, with operating, technical and business personnel, including formal technical reports
: Opportunities to provide guidance and technical direction to laboratory, technicians
: Other duties/projects as assigned
: 2-10 years of related technical experience
: Strong working knowledge of adhesives, adhesives applications and the use of thermoplastic elastomers in adhesive formulations.
: Economic evaluations/treatment of projects and daily tasks
: Demonstrated expertise in formulating, mixing, coating and testing of adhesive formulations.
: Demonstrated expertise in working closely with customers to facilitate the development and commercialization of new polymers and compounds.
: Energetic and motivated
: Demonstrated capability in working effectively in the field with sales, customers, and suppliers
: Strong decision-making and judgment skills
: Demonstrative verbal and written communication skills

Required Education : Minimum - B.S. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or similar discipline
