HealthFitness has a great opportunity for a part-time (3-6 hpw) Aquatic Fitness Instructor at our client site located in Pewaukee, WI. In this position, you will provide leadership and instruction to all participants of the client's aquatic programs, which include all fitness classes.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensure the safety of all program participants in and around the pool area.
Prepare for and teach all assigned classes.
Find a qualified substitute and follow the established substitute policy if you cannot work your assigned shift. You should have all paperwork ready and inform sub of procedures for those classes.
Attend all required staff meetings and training.
Refrain from activity that would distract from instructor duties (ie: visiting with other staff, visiting with other members outside of the class, excessive socializing)
Complete any other tasks assigned by the Aquatics Coordinator.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education, Experience and Certifications:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Current CPR-Pro and First Aid Certifications required.
1+ years of instruction experience preferred.
Current WSI and/or AEA certification preferred.
Current YMCA Lifeguard or American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification preferred.
Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
18 years of age minimum (fitness classes).
Have effective communication skills and able to relate and communicate with people of all ages.
Aquatic fitness instructors must be able to sustain at least 30 minutes of cardio.
All instructors must have the ability to move quickly and assist others in an emergency situation.
Ability to effectively handle stressful situations.
