Job Description:
The contractor shall provide linguist services in
accordance (IAW) with the categories and languages
identified in the contract. The contractor shall meet or
exceed the prescribed qualifications and requirements
for each of those categories and languages.
The contractor shall provide idiomatic translations of
non-technical material using correct syntax and
expression from English to the SCRL(s) or vice versa and
conduct training of the same.
The contractor shall conduct consecutive, accurate
translations and interpretations of on-going
conversations and activities and conduct training of the
same.
The contractor shall provide fully qualified personnel

with the following expertise and knowledge:
Consecutive interpretation, into, from and between the
required language(s)
Daily written translation of general and technical
material into and from English/SCRL
Interpreting aptitude, maintenance of integrity and
meaning of material
Produce transcription of aural SCRL language material
into written form
Write and speak in clear and concise grammar to and from
the required SCRL
Provide idiomatic translations of non-technical material
using correct syntax and expression from English to the
SCRL language or vice versa
Conduct consecutive and accurate translations and
interpretations of on-going conversations and activities
Provide the cultural and ethnic context of their
translations and interpretations and advise the
supported commanders and organizations on the cultural
and ethnic significance of statements, conversations,
situations, documents
Ancillary professional skills

Job Requirements:
CAT III linguists shall have and maintain a minimum
proficiency in the target language Interagency Language
Round Table (ILRT) level 3 in listening and reading. The
contractor shall have an advanced working proficiency in
English, ILRT level 2+, based on the current Defense
Language Proficiency Test (DLPT) version for each
specific language. The contractor shall provide a copy
of contract linguist DLPT scores for each specific
language. Exceptions to this requirement will be
considered on a case by case basis. The Government may
require the contractor to complete periodic DLPT
testing. The DLPT testing will be provided by the
Government. If the linguist are unable to maintain an
ILRT Level 3 proficiency, the Government will no longer
consider them qualified.
A Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (
TS/SCI) security clearance and be DCID 6/4 eligible wit
a current Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI0.
The contractor shall pass a Counter Intelligence (CI)
Polygraph for work at Fort Meade, MD, Fort Gordon,
Georgia, and other locations as required.
