We are seeking a Knowledge Architect to lead our strategic direction and delivery roadmap for TurboTax’s knowledge management platform, which deliver our products and services to our customers. We are looking to enable multiple growth and effectiveness priorities, including transforming our customer experiences and enabling external user contributions, through our platforms, services, and tools.
This leader will need to apply information architect to knowledge management by defining and designing information “spaces” to establish an environment conducive to capturing, managing, and presenting knowledge. This future architecture will support the knowledge “spaces” that encourage knowledge to be created/captured, managed/shared, and presented. This is an expert based user contribution architecture that will produce the necessary artifacts that will become our customer experiences (e.g., Turbo Tax Online). The actual kind of knowledge does not matter as much as the lifecycle – how and when it gets created and shared as well as how to get it to the right people (i.e., the experts) at the right time. While information architect is a critical skill set for this role, the knowledge architect roles varies in that it applies a focus on the design of “spaces” and the processes that support knowledge being exchanged, rather than on the knowledge itself.
This leader will have a proven track record in setting a vision for great experiences, inspiring others to get behind the vision, and ultimately delivering products and services that are known for their robust capabilities, flexibility, and ease of use. In addition, this person will have a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with a variety of business leaders, technology leaders (engineers and architects), designers, subject matter experts, and product managers.
Lead the vision for development platforms, services, and tools with all key customers (e.g. Design, Architecture, Customer Experience experts, Engineering, and Business Unit Leadership)
Drive a “platform and services” mindset through CG to accelerate company growth and innovation.
Work with the internal and potential external customers of the platform, service, and tools to understand their needs, value proposition, and drive the vision, roadmap, and success metrics for the area.
Communicate the platforms, services, and tools roadmap and drive a healthy pipeline of adoption and uptake throughout CG
Build positive relationships and trust through strong cross-team interactions
Inspires through action a lean and agile mindset.
10-15 years of software development and information management at a top gaming or content creation company, preferably the last 5 years as Knowledge Architect
Deep appreciation and understanding for design driven development to enable lean and rapid iteration to deliver innovation.
Enterprise Content Management – JSR 283 as well as cloud based tools (i.e. EC2), BPNM, and work processes.
Entrepreneurial mindset, bias for action and a passion for delivering great (internal and external) customer experience.
Classic information architecture – taxonomy, rules based systems, classic web structures, structured, search interfaces and unstructured content repositories.
Experience in instituting a framework for platform governance
Built tools and workflows for internal teams as well as external user contribution.
Experience setting up collaboration strategies
Knowledge of Specification Driven Development (i.e. artifacts that

An analytical orientation and strong problem-solving skills demonstrated by the ability to structure an issue & analyze alternative solutions
Experience managing contribution based platforms, Big Data, Content Management, Tools Development, Cloud, and an understanding of Operations at Scale preferred.
Must demonstrate cross-functional partnering skills with the ability to gain shared vision on challenging decisions and priority trade-offs. Can identify the critical few priorities, and keep the team focused on them.
Strong product sense with an ability to marry technology solutions with user needs.
Demonstrated track record of successful product execution and leading cross-functional teams to deliver high quality products.
Experience researching relevant industry trends and applying to product strategy & roadmap.
Ability to prioritize among competing opportunities, while maintaining stakeholder trust and engagement. Ability to clearly articulate the rationale behind product decisions.
Superior communication and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical issues simply and convincingly to a wide range of audiences and influence outcomes and decisions. The ability to create a clear, concise presentation of findings, and effectively present to any level of the organization is important.
BA/BS in a technical or business discipline required, MS advanced degree preferred.
