This position possesses the knowledge and skills to assist the Project Team in performing architectural studies, generating drawings and other technical duties. Takes an active role in increasing their knowledge of their discipline and corporate procedures. Must be capable of directing and reviewing the work of one or two architects. Must be able to work with other disciplines Coordinates the work of Architects with other disciplines. Directs and reviews the work of a project team of architects and designers. Perform tasks required of a Facilities Lead. Takes an active role in increasing their knowledge of project management.
2+ years experience in engineering projects in the heavy industrial market
Must be NCARB Certified or capable of obtaining such certification
Architects are expected to observe professional ethics in their association with others including fellow employees, clients, and vendors
Collect the client’s needs and constraints, Participate in an Architectural programming session and take notes of the meeting
Review client’s design standards and guidelines
Document and evaluate existing conditions
Complete simple conceptual studies
An Architect may be assigned to generate architectural plans, sections and details, as well as other drawings using AutoCAD.

Architect is expected to investigate and utilize applicable codes and standards such as building codes, ADA, OSHA, NFPA, etc. Architect should actively seek the guidance of the Lead Structural/Project Architect and the Discipline Lead in this area.
Travels as required to carry out job duties that may include travel to job sites, vendor sites, seminars and other destinations. May participate in on-site duties such as problem solving, data collection and other on-site assignments. Such assignments may require lengthy stays away from home and long working hours.
Conform to Jedson Architecting Inc., drafting and quality standards.

Obtains the project budget parameters from the Project Manager and to adhere to them in performing work. When time limits and budget constraints are imposed, an Architect II must not only be aware of them, but work within them. If budgets are liable to be exceeded, the Architect II must make this known at the earliest possible point and work on alternate methods or procedures to reduce or eliminate the over-run.
Directs a project team in carrying out the design and code issues for a project. Identifies and resolve the questions that might occur in these assignments. Maintains sufficient participation in these activities to maintain full responsibility.
Perform duties assigned to the project Facilities Lead including, attending all project meetings, keeping other facility disciplines advised of project requirements and changes, making sure other facility disciplines needs are included in the project and being responsible for overall project inclusion of facilities related issues and needs.
Helps in making formal marketing or sales presentations to prospective clients. Maintains awareness that their conduct in these meetings, with visitors to the office, with clients on field assignments or in after-hours get-togethers can have a direct bearing on Jedson’s ability to obtain new or continuing work. Conduct self professionally and with a genuine concern for the client’s expectations and benefit.
PMP certification is a plus
