Virident is looking for a Scalable Storage Systems Architect, who will work closely with the product marketing and engineering teams to define requirements and architectures for next-generation products that extend the performance value of PCIe Flash SSDs to clustered server environments.

The successful candidate will work closely:
With early-adopter customers to identify and prioritize use cases that most benefit from the unique advantages of PCIe Flash SSDs;

With product marketing to define product requirements, including potential partnership opportunities with external parties for bundled product offerings;

Drive the definition of next generation architecture for high performance Flash SSD products for data center applications

With the HW and SW engineering teams in implementations of cluster-level storage products and their management features;

With lighthouse enterprise customers to steer integrated deployment of these products within the customers' existing storage infrastructure.

Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, with an emphasis on operating systems, distributed and/or parallel systems. Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree, but with extensive relevant experience in a production setting will also be considered.

10+ years of experience in the design and implementation of one or more of the following in a production setting: cluster file systems, scalable NAS and SAN systems;

Good understanding of interoperability and integration considerations inherent to deploying storage solutions in an enterprise environment;

Good understanding of high availability and cluster management technologies, including ability to customize algorithms for specific implementations;

Experience working with low-latency, high-bandwidth communication fabrics and protocols such as Infiniband, iWarp, 10GbE/RoCE, and high-performance messaging libraries such as MPI;

Experience with architecting and implementing performance-critical software subsystems;

(Preferred) Good understanding of hierarchical storage solutions, including solid state storage, enterprise performance storage, and commodity capacity storage. To apply for this position, please send your resume to
