Atmospheric and Environmental Research, Inc. (AER) invites applications for an Arctic
Research Scientist position, to be filled as soon as possible at our Lexington, MA office. The
selected candidate is expected to contribute to and expand current AER efforts in ocean and
atmospheric modeling, satellite remote sensing, and climate analyses for the Arctic and
surrounding regions. The position will provide ample opportunities to collaborate with
a broad group of scientists both at AER and at prestige academic institutions in the area.
Both early career and more advanced career candidates are encouraged to apply to this position.
Minimum requirements are a PhD in atmospheric, oceanic or cryospheric sciences, plus 2 years
of post-doctoral experience. The desired candidates should have a demonstrated ability to work
independently, publish in the peer-reviewed literature, and develop their own research agenda,
commensurate with respective age and career level. Ability to lead an externally funded research
program is essential. Strong technical and communication skills and team-building abilities
in a competitive R&D environment are also required. Experience in ocean-atmosphere-sea-ice
coupled modeling and data assimilation methods is highly desired.
