St. Mary's College of Maryland at Historic St. Mary's City is accepting resumes for the position of Area Coordinator. The Area Coordinator is a 12-month, full-time, live-on professional staff member in the Office of Residence Life. The Area Coordinator reports to the Associate Director of Residence Life and is responsible for assisting with all facets of a residence life program designed to foster the development of over 1600 residential students. The Area Coordinator will provide programs and support for deficit areas in campus life and provide outreach to offices to meet those needs. The Area Coordinator can provide support to various offices including the Office of International Education, the Office of Student Activities, Career Development Center, or Admissions. Possible collateral responsibilities could involve; providing late night/alternative programming providing support to incoming matriculating international students. This position will participate fully in the projects and activities of the College, and directly supervise undergraduate residence life student staff members, share the on-call rotation, and serve as a judicial hearing officer.

Qualifications include a master's degree (preferred) in student personnel, counseling, or related human relations' field; experience in international education, cultural diversity preferred; experience in residence life staff supervision, selection and training; excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong advising skills; flexible schedule; experience managing crises and serving on-call; judicial experience. Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position, may be considered. Remuneration includes: $27,500 salary, a furnished one-bedroom apartment, full meal plan, and an excellent State benefits plan. Pets are welcome (with restrictions).
