The Engineer will provide engineering
support to the area assigned for expansion projects, extension and rebuilds;
relocations, or system enhancements and assist with operating the electric and
natural gas utilities.

DESCRIPTION OF
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Supervise the
work of maintenance, construction, and operating electric and natural gas
utility systems

·
Schedule
and coordinate projects to meet cost and time objectives

·
Conduct and
supervise work activities and assignments of crews and contractors under
general supervisor

·
Review progress
and evaluate results for projects and work activities

·
Recommend changes
in procedures

·
Responsible for
design and construction of electric and natural gas systems

·
Design and/or
create material, labor, engineering and supervision estimates for gas and/or
electric distribution extensions to ensure compliance with design criteria and
standards

·
Design and create
estimates for gas or electric distribution lines including material, labor,
engineering, and supervision

·
Design and create
estimates for gas meter fits, gas regulator stations, gas farm taps, and town
border stations

·
Conduct
feasibility studies, determines manpower and cost estimates

·
Maintain current
and updated O&M standards and review updates

·
Design or create
material, labor, engineering and supervision estimates for gas or electric
distribution extensions

·
Design expansion
projects, including creation of material lists and coordination of material
ordering

·
Design and create
estimates for gas or electric distribution lines - including material, labor,
engineering and supervision

·
Design and create
estimates for gas meter fits, gas regulator stations, gas farm taps, and town
border stations

·
Assist in budget
presentation

·
Create project
feasibility studies

·
Provide
information to the Area regarding construction, DOT compliance, and system
maintenance

·
Maintain Area
supervision coverage and customer response support equitably with other Area
leadership and other operations leadership.

·
Review gas and
electric system integrity and design for system enhancements as anticipated
load dictates

·
Assist with
creation of standard construction drawings and material lists while monitoring
material standards

·
Coordinate and
attain permits and easements for facility installations

·
Form and lead
teams

·
Support employees
with consistent follow-up and/or decision making

·
Promote and
maintain community involvement and company image in a manner supported by the
company

Job time is spent in both office and field with
exposure to all field hazards and inclement weather conditions. Occasional lifting of up to 70 pounds
required. Travel and extended work hours
required.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

·
Must be able to
demonstrate a good safety record

·
Must possess
strong interpersonal communication skills

·
Must have a four
year engineering or construction/project management degree, or equivalent
experience

·
Project
management skills; strong business communications skills, both written and
oral; initiative and the ability to work independently without close
supervision; while conferring with supervisor on unusual matters; flexibility
and the ability to handle multiple tasks; and must have strong interpersonal
skills

·
Engineer must
have advanced mathematical skill and will be required to interpret extensive
technical instructions in mathematical or diagram
form and deal with abstract and concrete variables

·
Ability
to demonstrate appropriate amount of personal and team responsibility

·
Ability
to direct action with customer issues within your area of responsibility

·
Adherence
to company code of ethics

·
Ability
to appropriately determine the need for management involvement

SELECTION
