The Strategic Initiatives Group (SIG) supports mobile banking, e-commerce and payments initiatives across all the lines of business within J.P. Morgan Chase. SIG is a rapidly growing organization centered in San Francisco, with professionals in New York, Delaware, Washington and Ohio. The group consists of senior business strategists, developers, interactive designers, product experts, infrastructure and architecture specialists, mobile marketers, usability professionals, editors and other project support and operations staff. The mobile banking group within SIG works closely with many lines of business including Retail Financial Services, Credit Card, Private Bank and Home Lending. The Mobile Customer Experience Art Director is a leadership role within the Strategic Initiatives Group (SIG). This role requires extensive experience in graphical design, especially as it pertains to application development in the mobile space. Leadership and management experience, the ability to maintain strong relationships with multi-disciplinary teams and internal / external customers as well as the ability to understand requirements and delivery commitments are all critical skills for success as well. In this role, you will be responsible for leading, developing and managing the direction, style and methodology used in our next generation mobile applications. You and your team of graphics designers will be working alongside the design architecture and interaction design departments, and will be expected to properly represent the JPMorgan Chase brand and its family of sub-brands such as Chase, Ink and JP Morgan.
A customer centric view is paramount while providing simple, fun and innovatively enriching mobile experiences for our customers. You will be working in a fast paced environment alongside our product, interface and engineering teams to deliver and integrate into the new UI/UX wireframes all graphical assets and specs, including images, renderings, fonts, colors, icons, logos, etc. You will also be expected to understand the differences and nuances inherent in the major mobile OSes - iOS, Android, BlackBerry, etc. and be the visual, go-to expert in these arenas. A balanced understanding of strategy, usability, interaction and visual design is a must. Finally, you will be expected to act as a resource for our marketing and executive teams to help develop potential go to market artwork, training materials, visuals, presentations, prototypes, die lines, etc. Providing our multi-disciplinary team with world class visuals that communicate the heart and soul of our products will help J.P. Morgan Chase continue in its role as the leader in the mobile financial services space.
This leadership role requires articulating strong visions and strategies as well as overall group oversight and project direction:
Coordination of overall creative processes
Internal resource and personnel management
BFA or BA in related field, graduate design degree preferred
5-7 years experience in mobile user interface design and graphic / visual development
Proven understanding of brand development and representation in the mobile space
Ability to articulate complex solutions clearly
Quick thinking, personable, flexible
Awareness and practical understanding of current technologies, and their application and relevance to digital media and consumer consumption
Marketing collateral & presentation creation experience a bonus but not necessary
Good communications and interpersonal skills
