We’re looking for an art director. To start with, that means someone with the ability and talent to deliver strong on-strategy creative and work hand in glove with a copywriter partner across channels. The Art Director will be responsible for the conception, design and execution of innovative visual materials for integrated initiatives, including promotional marketing, large web initiatives, digital marketing, and/or print advertising.
More specifically, we’re looking for someone who has the passion to push the work in an agency that is in the process of redesigning itself to deliver the kind of work that makes people say “I wish I’d done that.”
Produces solid concepts and executes on direction received from Associate Creative Director or Creative Director
Maintains stewardship of client’s look, tone and feel of communication materials
Creates a range of ideas and designs to ensure the art direction and visual presentation supports the concepts
Provides a visual logic that leads to understanding the complete message
Prepares materials from client presentation through studio hand off
Applies hands-on understanding of multi-page, multi-product materials, promotional print materials, catalog, direct mail and the fundamental principles of digital marketing
Refines skills of typography, practicing knowledge of information design
Partners well with Copywriter to concept creative, on-strategy ideas
Applies good sense of aesthetic when selecting stock photography and illustrated art
Thinks strategically, understands and values the Creative Strategy Brief
Brainstorms with team and generates ideas. Partners with Account team to solve problems
Juggles multiple projects and ensures that every last detail is covered
Partners with Account team to answer client needs and ensure on-strategy creative
A minimum of 2 to 3 years of creative work experience
Experience in a creative agency is preferred
Knowledge in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop
Understanding of digital technology, Flash, HTML and how to use it to enhance the creative idea.
Is alert to social, mobile and developing technologies
Ability to juggle multiple projects
Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability; can change gears as needed
Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills; is confident, articulate and a team player
Partners well with copywriter and account leads
Is enthusiastic, demonstrates a can-do attitude and is trend-aware
