ARTS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER, Office of the Provost-Office of the Arts, to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward prospective donors--individuals, foundations, and corporations--who are capable of making gifts to arts programs, including the Center for Art, Science and Technology (CAST), the MIT List Visual Arts Center, and the MIT Museum. Will manage and build successful fund-raising strategies in close collaboration with the associate provost, the executive director of arts initiatives, the director of the List, and the director of the MIT Museum; and collaborate with giving officers in central Resource Development, Foundation Relations, the School of Architecture and Planning (SA+P), the School of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (SHASS), Alumni Association staff, senior Institute officers, faculty, alumni, and donors. Will work under the supervision of the associate provost.

REQUIREMENTS: a bachelor's degree (advanced education desirable); a minimum of five years of direct fund-raising experience, preferably with an arts or a higher education organization; excellent interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to establish effective working relationships with colleagues, faculty, and volunteers; and a proven record of accomplishment in a position requiring independent planning and efficient utilization of time and resources.
