TFPP is currently hiring Assemblers to work in our Lubbock TX location.
The Assembler is responsible for the operation of a variety of tools and equipment used in the fabrication of component parts and to perform assembly of these parts to complete finished products within a manufacturing plant. By applying knowledge of layout, processes, CNC operations and manufacturing procedures, this employee is involved in hands-on bench or line assembly and/or the operation of metalworking tools and equipment used to pattern work pieces following diagrams, sketches, manuals and manufacturer's specifications.
Perform bench and line assembly operations and/or operate various hand tools, presses, power equipment, in order to mass-produce metallic and nonmetallic workpieces following a specified pattern.
Place parts in specified relationship to each other, using hands, tweezers, tongs, or other instruments, such as surface gauges, height gauges, jigs and dial indicators.
Select, lift, position and secure workpieces to holding devices, work tables, work cells or fixtures using wrenches, shims, parallel blocks, planter gauges or clamps.
Hand-feed or engage automatic feeding devices and operates assembly equipment by moving controls, switches and valves to feed work piece through assembly process.
Bolts, screws, cements or otherwise fastens work pieces together by hand or using handtools and portable power tools.
Maintain service and lubricate tools and equipment based on required intervals.
Perform assigned tasks of different workstations as production needs require or to shift from one station to another to reduce fatigue factor as directed by supervisors.
Confer with engineers, supervisors, production personnel and other maintenance workers to resolve equipment or assembly problems.
Prevent poor workmanship and reduce scrap by performing specialized tests on assembled materials and products to check for proper performance, durability and characteristics in accordance with plant quality standards.
Move piece parts, materials, and assembled goods through production areas and/or package products for shipment to other establishments.
Demonstrate safe work practices in accordance with the Tyco Safety Program, OSHA and EPA.
The ideal candidate will have:
H. S. Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Training will be provided to selected candidates and individuals must be able to perform tasks to standards as conditions of employment. Candidates with 1-3 years work experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment with knowledge of assembly practices is preferred, but not required.
The position requires the skills and knowledge needed to operate and maintain basic hand and power tools and manufacturing equipment. Experience with manufacturing, design and distribution of small electro-mechanical assembly parts preferred. The employee must have the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing and be able to read and comprehend general business documents, technical manuals, and diagrams.
