Environmental Solutions Group (ESG) is a leading manufacturer and supplier of a full range of street sweepers, vacuum trucks, high-performance waterblasting equipment and related parts and accessories for municipal and industrial customers. We also manufacture products for utility and industrial customers, including for hydro-excavation, glycol recovery and surface cleaning applications. We manufacture vehicles and equipment in the United States under the Elgin, Vactor, Guzzler, Jetstream, FS Depot and FS Solutions brand names.
We are currently seeking a ASSEMBLER based out of our facility in Elgin, Illinois. – 1st SHIFT – HOURS 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM – (4) 10 hour days
Assemble components according to blueprints, assembly drawings and job requirements as assigned station. Check stock bins for adequate supplies of subassemblies, parts and fasteners for the production run. Contact material control clerk if shortages exist or incorrect parts are in bins by filling out MR sheet. Check customer factory order to determine required assembly, exterior finish on product and any special options. Knowledge of hand tools pertaining to assembly. Ability to read and understand blueprints and assembly drawings. Fill out necessary paperwork in assigned area. Report all non-conforming parts, materials or drawings to supervisor. From experience, resolve assembly problems. Report other problems to master assembler or supervisor to obtain assistance. Enter on-line maintenance work orders.
Proper use of PPE. Promote safety in department. Use proper lifting techniques and overhead hoist when needed. Report all unsafe conditions to supervisor. Maintain clean and safe working environment in line with company policies. Perform hand and body warm up stretches at start of each shift to minimize potential for repetitive motion injuries. Participates in hazardous communication training.
Build a defect-free machine. Complete required in-process inspection and repair any defects found. Follow all procedures and processes in accordance to assembly of machine. Document critical quality information as necessary. Fill out reject tickets.
Able and willing to work in other areas as needed.
Willing to work late when needed. Actively participate in continuous improvement of our products and processes to better serve our customers and improve the overall profitability of Elgin Sweeper.
Positive working attitude toward other employees; team player. Work with others constructively and abide by company policies and procedures. Working together as a team for continuous improvement is vital to ensure the future of Elgin Sweeper and its employees. Teamwork will be required to be effective both in our daily production assignments as well as special improvement projects. Willingly help other team members when assigned station work is complete.
Meet daily/weekly schedule. Ensure subassemblies are done and ready for line stations. Meet predetermined daily/weekly/monthly ship schedule.
Work bench, tool box, machine to be debris-free prior to and after move up, including hose caps, zip ties, loose hardware, coffee cups, cigarette butts. Must pick up any fasteners, nuts or bolts on the floor to avoid safety hazards after move up. Daily clean up on your assigned work area. Complete assigned housekeeping responsibilities.
Must abide by company policy on attendance.
Must start work on time and does not quit early. Must be in the work area when scheduled and begin and end lunches and breaks on time.
