Routinely and independently performs power assisted assembly operations on LINING machines.
This position primarily works at a designated assembly workstation to assist in the proper assembly of MWV, Slatersville purchased products.
Inspects assembled components to insure quality meets MWV Slatersville standards. On a daily basis test caps for leakage utilizing water bins and air hoses. May train other Assemblers on basic assembly procedures.
Operates power-assisted machinery to assemble components, (caps,lining and spouts)
Visually inspects parts/assemblies for obvious defects. The machine segregates defective parts I assemblies for rework scrap. All scrap are placed in boxes and marked accordingly. Completed boxes must be dated and initialed and returned to Quality Control for testing.
Although Assembly work is primarily performed in a standing position,reaching, walking, bending, are all required motions of the job. Operator must inform the mechanic when adjustments to assembly machines are needed.
Utilizing a variety of instruments such as calipers, air hoses, and picks. Picks are used to clear jams in the machines. Liner operators will also replace the rolls of material as needed.
Informs Group Leader I Supervisor of any condition that interferes with acceptable quality/quantity production.
Maintains a neat and orderly work area, keeping walkways and aisles clear. Performs general housekeeping duties such as sweeping and trash removal.
When work in primary classification is not available, will perform other work according to skill and availability.
