The production technician is responsible for the manufacturing of scientific grade opto-mechnical and electronic devices by following specific procedures. The individual will ensure timely completion of production orders to schedule. The product delivered should be of high quality, free of workmanship defects and fully tested and verified by the production technician to meet documented specifications utilizing test procedures. In addition the individual should consistently look for opportunities to improve production processes through providing feedback to engineering.
Assembly and testing of scientific grade CCD and CMOS cameras
Delivery of product on time to production schedule
Consistently look for opportunities to improve processes and documentation
Occasionally support evaluation of new product introduction processes
Ensure delivery of defect free product
Effectively communicate any supply chain issues that are affecting production
Ensure all production areas are kept clean and tidy at all times
Ensure proper maintenance of production equipment is kept up to date
Occasionally support any other areas of the business as needed
Produce detailed documentation on product failures and returns
Knowledge & Skill Requirements:
Familiar working with optical systems containing optics, mechanics and electronics
Axapta preferred; experience with other enterprise level manufacturing/inventory software will also be considered
Microsoft word, Excel and outlook
Ability to work constructively within a team
Soldering of small surface mount and thru hole components
Basic understanding of ESD and best practices in a production environment
Basic trouble shooting of camera systems or relevant experience working with optical systems
Ability to read basic schematics and machine drawings
Basic Understanding of Lean Six Sigma Principles is not required but desirable.
Experience and Training Guidelines
Two years of experience working within a relevant industry.
Equivalent to completion of high school supplemented by relevant industry experience
Office and Manufacturing environment; night/weekend work when needed.
Essential functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; operate a computer and keyboard; near visual acuity to review written documentation; facility to hear and understand speech at normal room levels and on the telephone; manual dexterity to work with small components; physical agility to lift up to 25 pounds to shoulder height
